WEEK 1 - SCIENTIFIC METHOD STEPS (SESSION 2)
FIRMING UP (B)
- Quick Review:In the previous session, you explored the concept of what Scientific Method is all about. You learned the history and notable scientists behind the development of this systematic way of dealing with real world problems.
- The scientific method is a process used by scientists to study the world around them. It can also be used to test whether any statement is accurate. You can use the scientific method to study a leaf, a dog, an ocean, or the entire Universe. When scientists see something they don't understand, they have some huge urge to answer questions and discover new things. It's one of those scientist personality traits. The trick is that you have to be able to offer some evidence that confirms every answer you give.

Learning Target:
Your goal in this section is to dig deeper into the concept of the Scientific Method in terms of the steps involve in the process. As you go, you will learn and understand the steps involve in conducting a scientific investigation. By the end of this session you should be able to:
® Enumerate and describe each step involved in the Scientific Method
Activity 1.2 - Video Analysis: Steps in Scientific Method
Activity 1.2 - Video Analysis: Steps in Scientific Method
In this activity, you are going to watch a video about the steps involved in Scientific Method. One of the strongest traits the Scientific Method possess is how it enables scientist to conduct investigations about natural phenomena systematically. This systematic approach follows certain steps to ensure that scientist can come up with accurate findings.
While watching the video, take note of the following questions to serve as your guide to better understand the idea presented in the video.
Guide Questions:
1. What are the different steps in conducting a scientific investigation using the Scientific Method?
2. Briefly describe each step in terms of what is suppose to be done in each step.
3. Why do you think it is crucial to be systematic in conducting scientific investigation?
